一、教材内容分析
本单元主要围绕体育运动这个话题开展各项活动，其中，以会不会某项体育运动及其应答为重点内容。为了使学生更好地掌握本单元的学习内容，教师在学习过程中要多考虑学生的年龄特点，充分利用多媒体课件、图片、幻灯、简笔画等手段，运用形象化的语言和动作，使教学内容更贴近学生的生活，激发学生的学习兴趣，提高学生参与语言活动的积极性。
二、教学对象分析
本节课授课对象是小学四年级学生，他们活泼好动、好奇心强、同时具有很强的模仿力与表现欲。
三、教学目标：
根据《英语课程标准》的要求，基于对课文内容的理解，以及对学生身心发展规律和认知规律的分析，我把两个球类单词和三个球类单词以及句型 “Can you…？Yes, I can. / No, I can’t. I can….”作为第一课时的教学内容来学习，并制定了如下教学目标：
1．知识目标
（1）听懂、会说，会读单词basketball, jump, skate, swim, cool.
（2）初步听懂、会说、会读句型: I can…/ Can you…? Yes, I can. No, I can’t. / Can he…? Yes, he can. Have a try.
（3）能朗读并表演Story time.
（4）能在具体的情境中灵活运用相关句型。
2．技能目标
通过丰富的课堂教学活动，把所学的语言与学生的生活实际结合起来，培养学生自主学习英语的能力和运用英语的能力。
3．情感目标
(1)把语言训练与实践活动融合起来，让学生通过体验、参与等活动，学会与他人合作，共同完成学习任务，从而体验成功。
(2)培养学生对语言学习的持久兴趣。
(3)在教学中渗透文化，同时培养学生热爱运动的情感。
四、教学重难点
球类单词是学生第一次接触，都为双音节或多音节词，所以我把教学重点确定为 football, basketball 两个单词的认读、教学难点确定为这些球类单词在句型Can you…?及其回答Yes, I can. No, I can’t.中的灵活运用。
五、研究主题
本课教学，我突出了“线索化情景在小学英语教学中的运用”的研究主题。四年级学生爱听，爱看，爱说。教学中，我抓住他们这一心理特征，巧妙利用情景故事，将词汇以及句型融入到学生所感兴趣的情景中，力争实现语言自然与完整的输入与输出，让学生在“完整的情景”中学习“完整的语言。”
